10:30 A.M.: “BOOK COLLECTING 101”

Learn about the vocabulary, practicalities, and theory

of collecting books in this panel discussion that includes

Patrick Saine, owner of Winchester’s Blue Plate Books;

Lorne Bair, owner of Lorne Bair Rare Books; and David

Gray, director of learning resources of Lord Fairfax

Community College Library Information and Services.


11:30 A.M.: BOOK APPRAISAL SESSION

Registrants may bring one book to be appraised. Limited space is available. Sign up for book appraisal time slots begins at 10 a.m.


1 P.M.: “THE CARE OF BOOKS”

Get practical advice on how to keep your book collection in the

best condition possible, and learn how to store and care for your

books in this discussion with Jill Deiss, owner of Cat Tail Run

Hand Bookbinding; Trish Ridgeway, director of the Handley

Regional Library; and Byron C. Smith, director & curator of the

Newtown History Center.
